Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Courses

Air Conditioning and Refrigeration courses are something we offer to help you get into the air conditioning and refrigeration industry. It is a fairly young industry that is growing rapidly. The field of refrigeration is constantly proving this by providing more and more employment opportunities year after year. The Air Conditioning and Refrigeration courses will focus on the main aspect of air conditioning and refrigeration in the five fields of refrigeration; domestic, commercial, industrial, marine and refrigerated transport. Studying all these factors will help you massively on your way into the field of air conditioning and refrigeration.

What Is Included in These Courses?

The courses will include and cover servicing, maintenance, recovery and repair, pipework and brazing, the principles of Air Conditioning and Refrigeration, and safe handling of refrigerants. Our courses are available in 10 day or 15 day courses, with the 15 day course allowing time to perfect your knowledge on installing systems.

These courses include learning about Automotive Air Conditioning. These air conditioning systems are installed in most cars. However, maintenance and servicing of these air conditioning devices are usually carried out by contractors, which is why it is a good skill to have.

The Refrigeration side of our Air Conditioning and Refrigeration courses includes five main features. Domestic Refrigeration refers to household appliances such as domestic fridges and freezers. Commercial Refrigeration can include a huge variety of refrigeration, mainly ranging in the medium to large size. The field covers offices, banks, building societies, entertainment centres, airports, supermarkets, hospitals, hotels, prisons, railways and various other settings.

Industrial Refrigeration also covers medium to large sized equipment and factories that produce meat, poultry, fish, pickles, deserts, chocolates, pastries, sweets, sauces, mineral water and pet food. Equipment used in bakeries and breweries are also included. Marine Refrigeration includes refrigeration equipment used on cargo vessels, ships and barges that supply supermarkets and shop with a wide variety of products. These particular devices have unique systems that need to be studied. Refrigerated transport is the transportation of chilled and frozen food. Because of the increased demand for food products to hit supermarket shelves in "peak condition", fleet operators have grown to accommodate this. Engineers need to ensure that servicing, repairs and maintenance of these fleets is carried out efficiently and regularly.

What Certification Will I Receive Upon Completion?

The courses we cover will give you a Hal Certificate, a City & Guilds 2079 Safe Handling of Refrigerants or Construction Skills Version (Theory & Practical) and Construction Skills Pipework & Brazing (Theory & Practical). These qualifications are available on both the 10 day and 15 day courses.
